How is shipping handled?
Through our partnership with bike dealers, we ensure a smooth and efficient shipping process. Your bike kits will be shipped directly from the dealer warehouse to the location you specify when enrolling for your event. Please expect your bike kits to arrive within 3-5 days of your event.
What type of bikes do you use?
BFGS’s motto is “Good Bikes for Good Kids.” We only partner with dealers who can provide albumin bicycles. Once you provide the information in the “more info form,” we will quote you for our bicycles. BFGS can get a discounted price on aluminum bicycles, helping you with the cost of the kit. Aluminum bikes are lighter in weight and will not rust when left outside. We aim to provide a higher quality bike for the children receiving the bikes that will last longer.
Size of Bikes?
BFGS can get any size bike you desire. However, we recommend the 20-inch bicycle for ages 5-8 or the 24-inch bike for ages 9-11. If you desire to service a different age, provide this information in the “get more info form” to help us better understand your needs. We will provide you with options and a cost for those options.
What is included in a Bike Kit?
A Bike Kit includes a bicycle, helmet, tools to build the bicycle, and shipping.
How long does a bike build take?
The bike build itself will take 30-45 minutes per team.
How many participants can we have per team?
Through our 16 years of experience, we have found that 3-5 participants in a team work the best. Only 3 participants can build a bike.
How much does BFGS charge to facilitate the event?
BFGS is not a facilitator-type company. However, we can facilitate an event if needed. Depending on your desire, there will be an additional charge. Our primary focus is working with companies that want to create a 2–3-hour event that promotes a positive team-building experience for their teams to give back to their local communities.
Why are mechanics a requirement for your events?
No bike is ever built precisely right! BFGS must ensure all bicycles are built accurately so there is no risk of a child becoming injured. This is non-negotiable when working with BFGS. Safety is our top priority.
Can we provide our mechanic?
We will take mechanic suggestions during the enrollment process. However, we will vet the mechanics to ensure they know what is required to meet our requirements.
How many mechanics will we need?
Plan on one mechanic for every ten bikes.
How does BFGS find mechanics?
This is part of our service to you. We have many relationships across the United States with local bike shops in your community. Our goal is to serve you and your community through this event.
