Georgetown, TX – December 2, 2024 – Bikes for Goodness Sake is honored to announce its partnership in the James Wisniewski III Memorial Bike Build Event, set to take place on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Aristoi Classical Academy in Katy, TX. This special event will honor the legacy of James Wisniewski III, a young bike enthusiast known for his kindness and adventurous spirit, who passed away earlier this year.
This inaugural event is the first step toward grandparents’ Kristie and Wayne Wisniewski’s ambitious mission to donate 6,886 bikes to children in need, a number that reflects the exact number of days James’ family was blessed to have him in their lives. The 2024 Memorial Bike Build Event will donate 31 bikes and helmets to students at Aristoi Classical Academy, made possible through partnerships with Bikes for Goodness Sake and generous sponsorship from TC Energy, which is supporting the event through its employee donation match and giving-back program.
“James always believed ‘happiness is a choice,’ and we are choosing to channel our grief into something positive. We are so grateful to Bikes for Goodness Sake and TC Energy for helping us honor James’ memory in such a meaningful way. This is just the beginning of what we hope will be a legacy of giving that mirrors James’ generous heart,” shared Kristie Wisniewski.

About Bikes for Goodness Sake
Bikes for Goodness Sake is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to sharing the goodness of bicycles with underprivileged children through sponsored corporate charity bike build events. For 14 years, we have collaborated with hundreds of sponsors to build and donate thousands of bikes to kids across the country. As one of the first charity bike-building organizations in America and the only one with a national footprint, we partner with local bike shops, corporations, groups, and individuals to create charity bike build events that distribute bikes and custom-fit, bike-shop-quality helmets to children. Founded by Mark Smith and Pete Buck of Bucks Bikes in Austin, Texas, our mission began on July 4, 2008, honoring the silent sacrifice of military children, and continues today fostering a cycling culture in North America by giving a bike to a child.
