Igniting Growth Through Giving Back: ExamOne’s 2026 Convention Bike Build

On January 21, the team at ExamOne turned their 2026 company convention into something more than an on-site meeting, a moment of shared purpose.

Hosted at Lenexa Lab, ExamOne’s annual convention brought together 54 team members under the theme “Igniting Growth.” Rather than focusing solely on strategy and operations, the leadership team wanted to create an experience that would leave a lasting impression on both employees and the local community.

Turning a Team Meeting Into a Mission

As part of the on-site agenda, ExamOne partnered with Bikes for Goodness Sake to host a hands-on bike building event. Together, attendees assembled eight brand-new bicycles, which were donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kansas City to support local youth in need.

The room quickly shifted from a traditional meeting space into a collaborative build floor where teams problem-solved together, encouraged one another, and watched a tangible outcome take shape in real time. The result was not just eight bikes, but a renewed sense of connection and purpose among colleagues.

Why Giving Back Matters to ExamOne

According to Keith Ward, President, ExamOne, experiences like this are essential to building a strong, values-driven organization. “Events like this remind us that growth isn’t just measured in numbers or performance metrics. It’s about people: our employees, our partners, and the communities we serve. When we give our team an opportunity to give back together, it reinforces why our work matters and strengthens how we work together.”

By aligning their convention theme with a meaningful community impact, ExamOne ensured that Igniting Growth was more than just a theme; it was something the team could feel proud to participate in.

Why Bikes for Goodness Sake Was the Right Partner

The decision to work with Bikes for Goodness Sake was an easy one for ExamOne. Will Munson, Sr. Director, Mobile Phlebotomy & Examiner Network,  ExamOne, shared that the organization came highly recommended. “We had heard great things about Bikes for Goodness Sake from a colleague who hosted an event with them in 2019. From the first conversation, it was clear they understood how to make team-building meaningful, seamless, and impactful. They made it easy for us to focus on our people and our purpose.”

From logistics to facilitation, the Bikes for Goodness Sake team ensured the experience was smooth, engaging, and aligned with ExamOne’s goals.

A Partnership Built on Shared Values

For Mark Smith, events like this are exactly why Bikes for Goodness Sake exists. “Working with ExamOne was an absolute delight. There’s something special about companies that intentionally invite giving into their culture, and it’s even more meaningful when employees or organizations invite us back after experiencing it once. That tells us the impact lasts far beyond the event itself.”

Growth That Goes Beyond the Office

By integrating philanthropy into their 2026 convention, ExamOne demonstrated how corporate gatherings can do more than align teams around business goals. Events like this strengthen culture, spark connection, and create real change in the community.

For the kids receiving those bikes, it means freedom, joy, and opportunity.

For the ExamOne team, it meant walking away with a shared memory and a reminder that growth is most powerful when it’s fueled by purpose.
